So, as someone who’d been trudging away at my friendly neighbourhood gym for years, sweating through the same old classes, slogging on the same old equipment – I’d hit a rut. I knew I needed to spice my routine, or risk losing myself to the comfortably cavernous depths of my couch forever.
For a monthly subscription fee, this homegrown app gives users access to a plethora of fitness classes across their city.
As a Cape Town user, I suddenly had everything from Sweat 1000 to Switch Playground at my fingertips – up to three per studio a month, which works out much cheaper than a standard membership to most of these spots.
Of course, walking into a brand-new studio can be a little daunting – which is why I definitely recommend signing up to the app with a buddy, at least for the first few sessions.
Trying out new places with my bestie became totally addictive – although we soon figured out which classes were our faves and we found ourselves settling into a new routine of sorts (yeah, we’re still creatures of habit…).
What’s particularly great about the app is allowing you to find yourself a new niche – mine was yoga. Who knew I was so bendy?! When it comes to yoga spots, Cape Town users are spoilt for choice. There are so many, I could easily hit up several classes a week.
Seriously, if you’re stuck in a gym rut, I’d really recommend giving this nifty service a try.
